Select base metals prices strengthened by Rs 2 per kg at the non- ferrous metal market on Wednesday due to rising demand and steady trend overseas.

According to traders, apart from rise in demand by consuming industries, a firm trend overseas kept the select base metal prices higher.
In the national capital, copper mixed strap and nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 344 and Rs 782-792 per kg respectively.
In the overseas market, copper for delivery in 3 months ended 0.9% to USD 5875 per tonne on London Metal Exchange (LME) on Tuesday’s trade.
Lead imported, zinc ingot and lead ingot also moved higher by a similar margin to Rs 96, Rs 100-106, Rs 90 per kg, respectively.
