Avenue Supermarts posts impressive Q1 numbers

The company reported PAT of Rs. 174.8 crore, which represents a sequential QoQ increase of 80.8 per cent and a YoY increase of 47.6 per cent.
Avenue Supermarts reported its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2017 on Saturday.
The company’s total sales for Q1FY18 came in at Rs. 3598.1 crore, which represents a 15.7 per cent sequential increase and 35.7 per cent YoY increase.
Its operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter amounted to Rs. 269.5 crore and its EBIT margin stood at 7.5 per cent.

Avenue Supermarts is one of the largest food and grocery retailers in India, which owns and operates D-Mart stores. D-Mart is an emerging national supermarket chain that offers customers a range of home and personal products under one roof.
As of June 30, 2017, the company had 132 stores with retail business area of 4.1 million sq. ft. across 11 states.
In Friday’s trading session, the stock opened at Rs. 910.25 and touched an intra-day high of Rs. 921 and finally closed at Rs. 913.9 on the BSE. The stock is to look out for Monday on account of positive Q1 numbers.
