The BSE Mid-Cap index opened at the 15,481 level, up by 45 points in the trading session of August 7, 2017. The index touched its all-time high of 15,509, up by 72 points.

Torrent Power is the top gainer in the index, trading at Rs 194.8 per share, up by 3.45% or Rs 6.5 per share. The stock witnessed spurt in volume by more than 2.17 times. There are around 15 stocks in the index that are trading higher by over 1% in the morning hour on Monday. Jindal Steel and Crompton were up by over 2%. Bajaj Finserv, MRF and JSW Steel were major contributors to the index gains in the morning hour.
Meanwhile, Nifty opened at the 10,074 level, up by 8 points while Sensex opened at the 32,377 level, up by 52 points. There were 964 advances, 512 declines and 451 unchanged stocks on the NSE, reflecting fairly positive sentiments floating in the market.
