HFCL to set up optical fiber manufacturing facility

The Board of Directors of Himachal Futuristic Communications has approved setting up an optical fiber manufacturing facility as a part of backward integration at Hyderabad.

The Board of Directors of Himachal Futuristic Communications has approved setting up an optical fiber manufacturing facility as a part of backward integration at Hyderabad. It will have a capacity of approximately 6 million fiber km per annum, said the company in a BSE filing on Thursday.
 
The estimated project cost will be Rs 225 crore. The same is proposed to be funded by way of debt, internal accruals, fresh funding, etc. The facility is likely to be operational in 18 months’ time, said HFCL.
 
Himachal Futuristic Communications was trading at Rs 15.30 per share, up by Rs 0.15 or 0.99% as at 0957 hours on Friday, on the BSE.
