IISL announces changes in Nifty 50

Beginning September 29, ACC Ltd., Bank of Baroda, Tata Power and Tata Motors Ltd. DVR will be moved out from the NSE’s benchmark index, Nifty 50.

Beginning September 29, ACC Ltd., Bank of Baroda, Tata Power and Tata Motors Ltd. DVR will be moved out from the NSE’s benchmark index, Nifty 50. These companies would be replaced by Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and UPL Ltd. The changes in Nifty 50 were announced on Monday by India Index Services and Products Ltd. (IISL), an arm of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as part of its periodic review.
 
Besides Nifty 50, IISL has also decided replacement of stocks on various other indices, including Nifty Next 50, Nifty 500, Nifty 100, Nifty Midcap 150, Nifty Small-Cap 250, Nifty Mid-Cap 50, Nifty 200, Nift Small-Cap 50 as well as sectoral indices like Nifty IT, Nifty Realty and Nifty PSU Banks.

Meanwhile, ACC Ltd. was down 1.44% at Rs 1,789.60, Bank of Baroda was down 1.80 at Rs 141.65, Tata Motors Ltd. DVR was down 1.49% at Rs 221.85 and Tata Power Company was down 1.01% at Rs 78.05. Among the new entrants in the Nifty 50 index, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation was trading higher by 2.14% at Rs 473.20 per share, UPL Ltd was trading up by 0.98% at Rs 847.30 and Bajaj Finance was down by 1.39% at Rs 1,804.50 as at 0940 hours on Tuesday, on the NSE.
