 Avenue Supermarts turns into a USD 10 billion market capitalisation company

The run-up of the stock price since listing on the bourses has taken the retailer ahead of several major blue chip stocks, including GAIL, Godrej Consumer Products, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Tata Steel, etc.

With a 5.9% hike during Monday’s trading session, Avenue Supermarts, a retail chain that operates under the brand name D-Mart, has become a USD 10 billion market capitalisation company. 
 
The run-up of the stock price since listing on the bourses has taken the retailer ahead of several major blue chip stocks, including GAIL, Godrej Consumer Products, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Tata Steel, etc.
 
The company is now the 44th most valued company in the Indian equity markets with its market capitalisation touching Rs 65,263 crore on Monday. The market capitalisation of other majors such as HPCL, Nestle, Bosch and Motherson Sumi are just a few percentage points ahead.  
 
The stock for the second straight session traded on a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,057.20 per share on the BSE. The stock attracted a total traded volume of 4,03,888 shares and a traded value of 4,272 lakhs on the early hours of trade, on the NSE.
