Shooting stars from lesser known sectors

We see some stocks that hog the limelight and much research is available on the same. We wanted to bring to our investors top stocks from lesser known sectors which have delivered decent above market returns over the last one month.

We looked at the set of 75 companies from sectors such as amusement parks/ recreation, animation, cycles, detergents and soaps, floriculture, laminates and decoratives, travel services, watches and accessories.

By analysing the companies, we see that lesser known stocks have done fairly well and the improvement in metrics can be seen.



Transcorp is an Authorized Dealer Category II licensee from the RBI. It engages in permissible money changing transactions and outward remittance activities. It has seen its PAT increase by 23% YoY in FY17 though the sales declined by 37% YoY in FY17.

Neha international is investing in African floriculture industry. It has operations in Ethiopia. It has almost doubled its revenue in FY16; however, it has seen a decline in revenues in FY17. Its stock price seemed to have gained traction again. However, its debt remains a concern.

Oriental Veneer products makes COMPREG – a high density laminate board. The company has been seeing improvement in PAT due to better operational efficiencies. The company's ROE is 26.3%.
