Uflex gives functional makeover to UK’s Veetee Rice Packaging

Packaging major Uflex provided one of the largest rice suppliers of United Kingdom, Veetee with a permanent packaging solution in the form of a three dimensional pack with front openability through a Slide to Close (STC) zipper, to end the rice supplier’s packaging woes.
 
Veetee had been encountering a diminished shelf appeal of the big bags at the point of sale (POS), ergonomic discomfiture to consumers while carrying the bags, restricted openabilty of the bags posing difficulty in accessing the product and a poor stackability quotient with frequent slipping of bags.
 
As a packaging solution, Uflex has provided the company with the front, back and bottom panels which have a 3-ply structure comprising Stackable Polyester, Metallized Polyester or Polyethylene (Sealant layer). The side panels/gussets of the package will be made of Polyester/ Polyester/Polyethylene to have a provision for transparent windows on either side for consumers to see through the rice packets.
 
The stock of Uflex hit an intraday high of Rs. 480 per share and an intraday low of Rs. 461.65 per share on BSE on Monday. However, at 1231 hours IST, the stock was trading at Rs. 462.55 per share, lower by 1.83 per cent on BSE. Uflex had hit its all time high of Rs. 495 per share on October 17, 2017.
