Suzlon energy, a wind turbine manufacturer, has received a repeat order from Senok Group based in Sri Lanka. This repeat order contains 10 units of 2.1MW wind turbine generators aggregating a total 21MW of capacity.

Company has not disclosed any financial details of these contracts. We wanted to confirm the total order book position but company spokesperson was not available to comment when we contacted.

The order book size as of July 2011 was $6.6 billion (Rs 32000 crore). This includes total order for 4,739 MW of wind energy equipments. Based on our calculations the new order works out to be somewhere about Rs 3000 Crore, 10 percent of its total order book.

On other updates, the company has undergone for restructuring of its business, which is effective from October 10, 2011. It has merged its Power generation division with Suzlon Engitech and Project Execution Division with Suzlon Gujarat Wind Park Ltd. Suzlon Towers and Suzlon Infrastructure stands amalgamated with the Company.

Suzlon Energy on a consolidated basis reported net profit of Rs. 69 crore in June Quarter FY12, compared to net loss of Rs. 923 crore in June quarter FY11. Company posted Y-o-Y top line growth of 82% to Rs. 4379 crore in Q1FY12. Suzlon energy is witnessing a strong momentum in its order book, which has grown by more than 1.3 times from $4.9 billion (Rs 22000 crore) in Q1FY11 to $ 6.6 billion in Q1FY12 (Rs 32000 crore).

It should be noted that some of the new orders are from GAIL and Indian Oil Company which are from the Oil and Gas sector. Company is expecting to generate 15-20 per cent of its revenues in Seforge coming from orders in Oil and Gas sector. Going ahead company can see more order inflow from companies in non power sector which would be a good sign for its growth.
