Sensex Gains 150 Points, Buoyed By Realty, Banks

The Indian markets have extended their early morning gains led by buying seen in Realty, Banks and Mid-Small cap stocks that crashed in the previous few sessions. The Nifty is trading up at 6061 and Sensex has gained 150 points to touch 20075.
The Indian markets have extended their early morning gains led by buying seen in Realty, Banks and Mid-Small cap stocks that crashed in the previous few sessions. In the afternoon trading session, the Nifty is trading up by 42 points at 6061 and Sensex has gained 150 points to touch 20075. Both indices are trading up in the range of 0.69%-0.75%.
The advance-decline ratio is positive at this point of time. On the NSE, 829 shares are in the green and 574 shares are in red.
Top 5 NSE Gainers: Jaiprakash Associates is leading the performers list with gains of 4.77%, followed by Bank of Baroda, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Top 5 NSE Losers: ACC is seeing the highest losses so far, down by 1.55%. Others in the list include UltraTech Cement, HDFC, Tata Power and Cairn India.
Most of the sectors are in the positive zone at this hour. Realty and Auto are the top performers, higher in the range of 1.75%-3.05%.
The Asian peers closed on a mixed note. Nikkei 225 and Straits Times ended with gains of 0.41%-2.80%. On the other hand, KOSPI was down by 0.91%, followed by Shanghai Composite, Taiwan Weighted and Hang Seng which dropped between 0.08%-0.91%.
Buzzers: HDIL has turned the tide in its trades. The stock has witnessed some serious selling in the last couple of trading sessions, crashing down from the levels of Rs 121 to around Rs 70 in three trading sessions. Today, it has surged by 12% at Rs 84, bouncing back almost 20% from its intraday low on the back of heavy volumes.
Jet Airways has surged more than 3% to Rs 608.50 in the afternoon session on the back of heavy volumes on reports that Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways may finalise a deal to buy a stake in the company today.
The Nifty bounced back from its strong support zone of 6010-6020, and is now trading above its first resistance of 6060.
