Markets Hold Morning Gains

The Indian markets continue to trade in green, while the Nifty continued to trade below the psychological mark of 6000. In the afternoon trading session, Nifty is trading up at 5975 and Sensex is trading at 19,707.

In the afternoon trading session, at 12:30 PM, Nifty is trading up by 18 points at 5975 and Sensex is trading at 19,707 up by 48 points. Both the indices are trading down in range of 0.25%-0.31%.

The advance-decline ratio is trading in a positive zone. On the NSE, 830 shares are trading in green and 523 shares are trading in red. 

Top 5 Gainers on NSE: Bank of Baroda is the top gainer on NSE, trading up by 2.39%, followed by HDFC, Jindal Steel and Power, Maruti Suzuki and UltraTech Cement. 

Top 5 losers on NSE: Jaiprakash Associates continues its losing streak and is trading down by 1.84% to be among the top losers on NSE, followed by Hindustan Unilever, NTPC, Siemens and Cipla.

On the sectoral front, 11 out of 13 sectors are trading in green. Metal, Consumer Durables, Realty and Oil & Gas are the top gainers in the sectoral indices. Bankex and Consumer goods are trading in a negative zone.

Globally, the Asian shares are trading firm. Japan’s Nikkei225 is trading up by 3.64%, followed by Hong Kong’s Hang Seng and Taiwan Weighted. 

Buzzers: Bajaj Hindustan is trading at an intraday high of Rs 24.10, up by 5.25%. The stock has witnessed a rise in price along with a jump in volumes. It has gained on the news that the Ministry of Food is seeking a cabinet approval to de-regulate the sugar stocks. 

PFC has shown a good momentum in the sluggish market at 220 up by 3.65%.The stock has seen a jump in volumes in today’s trading session. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 220.60 and a low of Rs 212.

Nifty has seen a range bound trade in the noon session and looks like bulls will not give up the levels of 5940-5950. Going further, the markets may take cues from the European market.
