Sensex Hits Ton, Capital Goods Surged 1.7%

The Indian markets edged higher after a strong consolidation in the afternoon trading session this Tuesday. The National Stock Exchange’s 50-share Nifty is trading higher at 5599, while the Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30-share Sensex is trading at 18,556. Both the indices are trading down in the range of 0.65% to 1.03%.

The Indian markets edged higher after a strong consolidation in the afternoon trading session this Tuesday. The National Stock Exchange’s 50-share Nifty is trading higher by 56 points at 5599, while the Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30-share Sensex is trading at 18,556, up by 118 points. Both the indices are trading down in the range of 0.65% to 1.03%.

The advance-decline is on a positive side in the afternoon session. On the NSE, 777 shares are trading in green and 394 shares are trading in red. 

Top 5 NSE Gainers: IDFC is the top gainer on NSE, trading up by 3.48%, followed by Cairn India, Ambuja Cement, Jindal Steel and Power and Axis Bank. 

Top 5 NSE Losers: Bharti Airtel is trading down by 1.09% and is among the top losers on the NSE, followed by Dr Reddy’s Labs, Asian Paints, ONGC and Hindustan Unilever. 

The key sectoral indices such as IT and Technology declined while Capital Goods, Metal, Bankex and Auto are trading higher by more than 1%.

The Asian markets traded firm with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng trading up by 193 points, China’s Shanghai Composite up by 0.57% and Nikkei trading flat. 

Buzzers: TVS Motor Company has dipped by almost 9% to Rs 36.2 on profit booking after the stock surged more than 20% in the past four trading sessions on the NSE. 

NIIT Technologies saw a good momentum in today’s trading session. The stock saw a jump in volumes along with a rise in price. It is trading higher by 5.36%.

In our last update, we had mentioned that an immediate resistance for Nifty comes in at 5575, and once we sustain above this level we may see a rally. Nifty rallied almost 25 points in no time as soon as it cleared the 5575 level.
