The Indian markets have reversed their gains to slide into the negative zone in the afternoon trading session. The BSE Sensex is hovering around the crucial psychological mark of 20,000.
The Indian markets have reversed their gains to slide into the negative zone in the afternoon trading session. The BSE Sensex is hovering around the crucial psychological mark of 20,000. Currently, the Nifty is trading down by 5 points at 6078 and Sensex is trading at 20,035 up by 4 points.
The advance-decline ratio is positive. On the NSE, 642 shares are trading in the green and 562 shares are in the red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Coal India is the top gainer at this hour, up by 3.55%. Jaiprakash Associates, GAIL, Hero MotoCorp and BHEL are among the others on the top of the list.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: UltraTech Cement is trading down by 2.14%, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, Sesa Goa, HDFC and Sun Pharma.
Most of sectoral indices are trading in the green. PSU, Power and Realty are the top gainers in the afternoon session. Auto and Bankex are lower in the range of 0.22%-0.34%.
The Asian markets are trading in the green. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has gained 1.18%, and the Shanghai Composite, Hang Seng, KOSPI and Straits Times are also in positives. Taiwan Weighted has dipped by 0.21%.
Buzzers: Britannia Industries has moved higher by 1.31% to Rs 674, extending its previous day’s 16% rally. The company reported a robust 66% YoY growth in its standalone net profit, which came in at Rs 88 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013 against Rs 53 crore in the year ago quarter.
Havells India has registered a new 52-week high, which is also its all-time high on the NSE. The stock is currently trading up by 4% at Rs 725. It has seen a rise in prices along with higher volumes.
After a strong up-move seen in the last trading session, the markets are consolidating as there is no major trigger. We feel that the Nifty will remain in the range of 6020-6120.
