Sensex Recovers Only To Tank Again

The Indian markets witnessed a gap down opening in the morning session. The index has managed to recover all the losses and witnessed selling in the mid-session. The global markets are also experiencing a similar trend. The Nifty is trading at 5640 and Sensex is trading down at 18,682. Both the indices are trading lower in the range of 0.25%-0.20%.

The global markets are also experiencing a similar trend. The Nifty is trading at 5640, down by 15 points and Sensex is trading down by 36 points at 18,682. Both the indices are trading lower in the range of 0.25%-0.20%.

The advance-decline ratio is on the negative side. On the NSE, 575 shares are trading in green and 788 shares are in red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Hero MotoCorp is leading the gainers’ list so far, up by 1.55%. NTPC, Dr Reddy’s Labs, ONGC and TCS are also in gains.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Jindal Steel is trading lower by 10.8%, followed by Bank of Baroda, Hindalco, PNB and Reliance Infra.

On the sectoral front, 11 out of the 13 sectors are trading in red in the afternoon session. Metals are trading down by 170 points. Banks and Mid-Caps are down by 138 points and 119 points respectively. Healthcare and Oil & Gas and are also down by 40 points and 31 points correspondingly. Small-Caps are trading on a negative note too.

All the Asian markets are trading in a mixed zone. Hang Seng is down by 119 points, Shanghai, KOSPI and Taiwan are trading on a negative note. Only Nikkei is up by 215 points.

Buzzers: Jindal Steel opened on a negative note and made a new low at Rs 195.90. The stock broke its major support in the mid-session at Rs 200. If closed below this level, we may see a downside for the next few trading sessions.

Karnataka Bank is the biggest Mid-Cap loser, falling nearly by 15% to Rs 118.

If Nifty closes below 5600, we may see further downtrade in the next session.
