Markets Open Negative, Sensex Struggles To Break 20000

The Indian markets have opened flat with a negative bias in the morning trading session after witnessing some buying in the last trading session. However, the global markets were seen trading with a positive sentiment this morning. The Nifty opened with a negative bias at 5994 and Sensex was down at 19,920. Both the indices opened down in the range of 0.24%-0.19%.

Both the indices opened down in the range of 0.24%-0.19%.

The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side in the morning session. On the NSE, 1723 shares are trading in gains and 1592 shares are down.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Cairn India is the top Nifty gainer for today’s morning session, up by 2.4%, followed by Lupin, JP Associates, Sesa Goa and Dr Reddy’s Labs.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Tata Steel is the top loser for today’s morning session, down by 2.34%, followed by Infosys, Coal India, HDFC Bank and Tata Power.

On the sectoral front, 5 out of the 13 sectors are trading in the red zone. Bankex is the top loser, down by 76 points, followed by IT and Metals, which are down by 20 points and 18 points respectively. However, Capital Good is a gainer, up by 64 points, followed by Healthcare and Oil and Gas. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are trading in the green zone, both up by 31 points.

On the global front, the Asian shares are trading with a positive sentiment. The Hang Seng market is the top gainer for today’s morning session, up by 102 points. Nikkei is up by 33 points for today’s session. The Taiwan and Shanghai markets are also trading on a positive note.

Buzzers: JP Associates opened with a positive sentiment, up by 2.4%. The stock made a new high at Rs 53. It broke its resistance in the morning session at Rs 51.50. If it breaks this level, we will see an upmove up to Rs 56 in the further trading session.

If Nifty sustains above 6200, we may see an up-trade from the current levels. A major resistance will be faced at the 6025- 6045 levels.
