Markets Up With Minor Gains, TCS Surges 5.2%

The Indian markets opened flat with a positive bias in the morning trading session today. The rally continued from yesterday’s closing session. The Nifty opened with a positive bias at 5953 and Sensex was up at 20,200. Both the indices opened up in the range of 0.26%-0.40%.

The Nifty opened with a positive bias of 14 points at 5953 and Sensex was up by 79 points at 20,200. Both the indices opened up in the range of 0.26%-0.40%.

The advance-decline ratio is positive in the morning session. On the NSE, 1720 shares are trading in gains and 1570 shares are down.

Top Nifty Gainers: TCS is the top gainer for today’s morning session, up by 5.2%, followed by HCL Tech, Tata Motors, Infosys and Lupin.

Top Nifty Losers: BHEL is the top loser for today’s morning session, down by 4.7%, followed by Kotak Mahindra Bank, DLF, NTPC and Sun Pharma.

On the sectoral front, 9 out of the 13 sectors are trading in the green zone. IT was the top gainer, trading up by 209 points, followed by Auto and Metals, which were up by 82 points and 38 points respectively. Oil & Gas was also up by 26 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were up in the range of 22 points this morning. However, Capital Goods and Bankex saw some selling and were down by 64 points and 86 points correspondingly.

On the global front, the Asian shares are trading with a mixed sentiment. The Nikkei market is the top loser for today’s morning session, down by 206 points. Hang Seng is trading flat note, up by 38 points, followed by Shanghai Composite and KOSPI, which were trading on a positive note.

Buzzers: TCS announced an encouraging set of the June 2013 quarter results. The stock crossed its major hurdle at Rs 1720. Going ahead, if it sustains at the current levels, we may see the level of Rs 1750 by closing.

Nifty hovered around 6050 and if breaks 6070, we may see an upmove.
