Markets Open Flat, Wipro’s Q1 Results Awaited

The Indian markets opened flat with marginal gains in the morning session today, after the index witnessed a disappointing session on the July expiry day. The Nifty opened with a positive bias at 5919 and Sensex was up at 19,832 this morning. Both the indices opened up in the range of 0.21%-0.15%.

The Nifty opened with a positive bias of 12 points at 5919 and Sensex was up by 28 points at 19,832 this morning. Both the indices opened up in the range of 0.21%-0.15%.
The advance-decline ratio is balanced in the morning session. On the NSE, 1664 shares are trading in gains and 1618 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: Ambuja Cement is the top gainer for today’s morning session, up by 2.3%, followed by Sun Pharma, Hero MotoCorp, L&T and DLF.
Top Nifty Losers: HUL is the top loser for today’s morning session, down by 3.1%, followed by PNB, Coal India, Hindalco and Maruti Suzuki.
Out of the 13 sectors, 9 are trading in the green zone. Oil & Gas was the top gainer trading up by 83 points, followed by Capital Goods and Healthcare which were up by 80 points and 60 points respectively. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps traded on a flat note. However, Bankex and Metals traded in a negative zone both down by 50 points.
On the global front, the Asian shares are trading with a negative sentiment. The Nikkei market is the top loser for today’s morning session, down by 423 points. Hang Seng is also trading on a negative note, down by 15 points, followed by Taiwan Weighted and Shanghai Composite which are both trading on a negative note.
Buzzers: SBI hit a 52-week low at Rs 1762. If the scrip breaks Rs 1760, it may see a further downmove.
Nifty has a major support at 5930-5910 levels. Going ahead, it will face a first hurdle at the 5970 level.
