Nifty Hovering Around 5550, Lupin Dips 6%

The Indian markets witnessed some consolidation in a wide range mid-session. The Nifty is trading down by 15 points at 5526 and Sensex is 32 points lower at 18701. The indices are trading negative between 0.30%-0.18%.

The advance-decline ratio is balanced. On the NSE, 1611 shares are in the green and 1638 shares are in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: DLF is leading the gainers list so far, up by 7.1%. BPCL, JP Associates, Reliance Infra and Tata Power are also in gains.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Lupin is down by 6.1%, followed by Asian Paints, HDFC, Sun Pharma and Grasim.
7 out of the 13 sectors are trading in the green zone. Oil & Gas was the top gainer, up by 211 points, Metals were up by 160 points and Bankex was 71 points higher. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also gained 33 points and 46 points respectively.
The Asian markets have all been in negatives since morning today. Nikkei is the top loser so far, down by 576 points and Hang Seng is down by 334 points. Straits Times and Taiwan also remained in the red.
Buzzer: Lupin has announced good Q1 results. Despite this, the stock has seen a reverse movement and made low of Rs 820.
Nifty futures have been able to sustain above 5550 in today’s session. The markets are hoping for some recovery from the current levels to 5580.
