Markets Ends With Nominal Gains

The Indian markets saw low volume and trade in a small range in most of the session. The Nifty ended the day, up by 11 points at the 6204 level, while Sensex ended 11 points higher at 20893. Both the indices ended positive in the range of .05%-.25%.

The advance-decline ratio was in positives. On the NSE, 1772 shares closed in green, while 1332 shares ended the day in red.

Top Nifty Gainers: L&T closed the day with the highest gains on the index, up by 6.1%. Asian Paints, DLF, IDFC and Maruti Suzuki were among the others that ended higher.

Top Nifty Losers: Jindal Steel closed the day with the lowers on the index, down by 3.75%. ITC, TCS, HCL Tech and BHEL. 

Among the sectoral indices most of the sectors were managed to close the day in green. Capital Goods was the out performer today up by 352 points. Metals and Bankex moved up by 156 points and 73 points respectively. Oil & gas and auto were also surged by more than 50 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also ended in green zone. However the sectors like IT and FMCG ended in negative note down by 85 points and 44 points respectively.

The scenario remained unchanged in the Asian markets too. Nikkei index ended higher by 132 points and hang Seng index was up 98 points. However Shanghai Composite closed in the green zone up by 35 points.

Buzzer: DLF one of the largest realty player in India surged 5.8% in today’s trade. Its broke all the major hurdles and closed above the technical level of Rs 165. If sustain above this level may see more positive trade in next few days.

Nifty Futures took support 6180 level and also managed to close above the psychological level which is 6200. Indicating positive outlook on tomorrow’s trading session.
