Sensex Above 20500 Mark, DLF Gains 2.5%

The Indian indices have remained volatile over the past couple of days. Currently, the Nifty is up by 7 points at 6085 and Sensex has moved higher by 11 points to 20505. Most of the sectoral indices are trading in positives, Healthcare and FMCG being the strongest gainers. The Asian markets are also in the green this morning.
The Indian indices have remained volatile over the past couple of days. While the markets have largely been consolidating in a range, the trend has been punctuated by some choppy sessions. Currently, the Nifty is up by 7 points at 6085 and Sensex has moved higher by 11 points to 20505. If the Sensex does not manage to sustain at the higher levels, it may see a sell-off again.
The advance-decline ratio is in the positives at this hour. On the NSE, 1738 shares are trading in gains and 1442 shares are down.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Hindalco is the top gainer so far, up by 2.02%, followed by DLF, Cairn, Maruti Suzuki and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Sesa Sterlite has dipped by 2.77% this morning. Tata Motors, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Power Grid Corp are among the other stocks trading lower.
Most of the sectoral indices are trading in the positive zone. Healthcare and FMCG are the strongest gainers, both up by over 50 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also showed some strength, up by 25 points and 15 points respectively. The Metals and Auto indices, on the other hand, were down by 105 points and 64 points respectively.
The Asian markets are in the green this morning. Nikkei is the top gainer, up by 285 points. KOSPI and Taiwan Weighted are both nominally in gains, while Hang Seng is 33 points lower.
Buzzer: Sesa Sterlite has dipped on the bourses in today’s opening session, making an intraday low of Rs 191.50 as yet. If it continues to trade around this level, it may break the Rs 188 mark by the closing session.
Nifty Futures has a support level of 6120-6080, and 6180 will be a major hurdle for today’s trade.
