The Indian markets saw confident moves today. Unexpected buying was seen at day’s end. The Nifty closed at today’s highest level, up by 132 points at 6189, and Sensex was up 451 points at 20850. JP Associates saw bulk buying after mid-session, closing with gains of over 6%.
The Indian markets witnessed a confident opening today, and the positive note rang through till the closing session. Unexpected buying was seen at day’s end. As a result, Nifty closed at today’s highest level, up by 132 points at 6189, and Sensex was up 451 points at 20850. Both the indices ended higher in the range of 2.19%-2.21%.
On the NSE, the advance-decline ratio was on the positive side, with 1813 shares closing in the green and 1459 shares in the red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: JP Associates closed with the strongest gains on the index, up by 6.2%. HDFC Bank, L&T, Axis Bank and ITC were among the others that ended the day higher.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Coal India closed lower by 1.35% today, followed by Sesa Sterlite, Lupin, NMDC and Bajaj Auto.
All the sectoral indices closed in the green zone. Both Bankex and Capital Goods remained up in the range of 300 points. FMCG closed higher by 163 points and Auto was 140 points up. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also surged by 60 points each. The IT, Metals and Healthcare sectors also showed positive momentum.
All the Asian markets closed in positives too. Hang Seng was up by 627 points by day’s end, Shanghai Composite gained 60 points and Straits Times and Taiwan Weighted also closed on a positive note.
Buzzer: JP Associates saw bulk buying on the bourses after mid-session. It made an intraday high of Rs 48.55 and closed around the technical level of Rs 48.20. If the stock opens above this level tomorrow, it may continue with the positive momentum.
Nifty Futures’ trend indicates a medium-term positive picture. However, some profit booking may be seen at the higher level.
