Downfall Continues, Markets Still In Red

All the sectoral indices moved into negatives in the mid-session. Nifty is below the psychological level of 6050 and is trading at 6024, down by 58 points and Sensex is 177 points down at 20271. Bankex, Oil& Gas, Capital goods and Health Care have all lost more than 100 points in the mid-session. DLF is leading the gainer’s list, up by 2.07%.
The markets extended the morning losses and hit new intraday low in early afternoon trades. Nifty is trading at an intraday low of 6024, down by 58 points since opening and Sensex is trading 177 points lower at 20271.
On the NSE, the advance-decline ratio is negative with 1279 advances and 1978 declines.
Top Nifty Gainers: DLF is leading the gainers list so far, up by 2.07%. Sesa Sterlite, TCS, M&M and Sun Pharma are among the others trading higher.
Top Nifty Losers: Cipla is down by 6.95%, followed by Bank of Baroda, Jindal Steel, ONGC and Coal India.
All the sectoral indices have moved into negatives in mid-session. Bankex is down by 165 points, Oil & Gas has lost 118 points, and Capital Goods have dipped by 112 points and Healthcare by 108 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps too are trading lower by 55 points and 40 points respectively.
In the Asian markets, Nikkei is down by 265 points and Hang Seng has lost 120 points. Straits Times and Shanghai Composite too are trading on a negative note.
Buzzer: Tata Communications is down by 2.76%. The stock has made an intra-day low of Rs 290.55 so far on poor Q3FY14 result.
Nifty Futures has failed to sustain at the support level of 6065, and is currently trading at 6036. 5964 is the next crucial level. While sustaining this level can lead to some recovery, a failure to do so will result in more losses.
