GAIL joins hands with Ranchi Municipal Corporation for setting up compressed biogas plant

Gail (India) announced that it has signed a concession agreement (CA) with Ranchi Municipal Corporation for setting up compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Ranchi at a formal ceremony in the presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren

Gail (India) announced that it has signed a concession agreement (CA) with Ranchi Municipal Corporation for setting up compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Ranchi at a formal ceremony in the presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren. 

As per the agreement, GAIL will install a CBG plant for processing 150 tonnes per day of organic municipal solid waste (MSW). The CBG plant will also produce 5 tonnes of compressed biogas (CBG) per day and approximately 25 tonnes of fermented bio manure per day. The CBG plant will be a step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and will be beneficial for the people of Ranchi by producing clean & green fuel. 

GAIL (India) Ltd is an integrated energy company in the hydrocarbon sector. The company is involved in gas marketing. The company covers products & services, which include natural gas marketing & transmission, petrochemicals (polyethylene & polypropylene) as well as liquid hydrocarbons production (LPG, propane, pentane & naphtha). 

Despite this news, the company's share was trading at Rs 129.90 on Friday, down by 3.85 per cent on BSE.
