HCL announces AppScan V10 for strong security testing

Information technology company, HCL Technologies, has announced the latest version of AppScan, with the name AppScan V10, which would be available from next month.

HCL announced on March 17, 2020 after market hours that they are launching an updated version of AppScan which would enable strong security testing. AppScan tests web applications for security vulnerabilities during development process. HCL had purchased this product from IBM in July 2019.

The new release of the product-AppScan V10 will provide significant business and technical benefits including fast and accurate scans through machine learning. It identifies risk and vulnerabilities early and provides relevant information to evaluate and remediate risk as well as manage the application security program with full visibility on application portfolio.

Commenting on this, Darren Oberst, Global Head of HCL Technologies, said that AppScan V10 is an example of HCL software’s commitment of unlocking new value in a battle-tested product that thousands of customers can count on. He further added that the new product complies with regulations, detect and remediate vulnerabilities with best practices of security services.  

At 11.57 am on Wednesday, the stock of HCL Technologies Ltd is trading at Rs 447.80, down by 0.98 per cent against its previous close of Rs 452.25 on BSE.
