I got an opportunity to read your special report on debt mutual funds versus bank FDs and found it very interesting. However, with banks now offering attractive rates, does it make more sense to invest in them over debt mutual funds? - Rachit Khurana

Editor Responds : I believe investing in bank fixed deposits is equally important. However, your intent should be clear. If you wish to save money for very short-term then parking some of your funds in bank fixed deposits will make sense. However, for longer term goals, investing in debt mutual funds is a more logical route to take. Moreover, it is quite easy to actively manage your investments with Debt Funds as against fixed deposits.
