Investment View and Valuation

Prabhudas Lilladher's October 18, 2026 result update described Q2FY27 performance as steady, but highlighted an integration overhang. The broker downgraded the stock to HOLD from Accumulate as valuations were at their peak, while reducing its target price to Rs 4,240 from Rs 4,260.

The target price is based on applying an 18 times price-to-earnings multiple to September 2028 estimated EPS.

Q2FY27 Financial Performance

LTIMindtree reported IT services revenue of US$1.235 billion, up 1.0 per cent quarter-on-quarter in reported currency and 1.1 per cent in constant currency. This was slightly ahead of Prabhudas Lilladher's 0.8 per cent constant-currency growth estimate. Consolidated revenue was Rs 118.1 billion, up 13.6 per cent year-on-year and broadly in line with the broker's estimate.

Segment and Geographic Trends

Quarterly growth was broad-based outside Technology and Services. Financial Services grew 3.1 per cent quarter-on-quarter in constant currency and Production grew 3.7 per cent. Technology and Services declined about 4 per cent because of seasonality at a top client and weakness in the Middle East business.

North America and Europe grew 1.5 per cent and 1.0 per cent respectively in constant currency, while Rest of World declined because of the Saudi Arabia business. The Middle East conflict and sharp Saudi revenue decline reduced Q2FY27 growth by an estimated 60 to 70 basis points. Management indicated that growth excluding this disruption would have been 1.7 to 1.8 per cent in constant currency.

Growth Outlook and AI Opportunities

Management expects Technology and Services to normalise in Q3FY27, supported by healthy demand and the conversion of recent wins into revenue. The CBDT deal is expected to ramp gradually as hardware availability improves. Management expects stronger growth in H2FY27 than H1FY27 and aims to bring organic FY27 growth closer to FY26 levels.

AI-related revenue grew 40 per cent year-on-year and accounted for 13.4 per cent of total revenue. Management also said that its AI 1,000 programme to develop 1,000 FDEs remains on track, alongside more than 2,000 cloud, Gemini, Copilot and Azure AI certifications.

Order Inflow and Operating Metrics

Order inflow of about US$1.25 billion to US$1.26 billion was weak, down 26 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 21 per cent year-on-year, with a book-to-bill ratio of 1.0 times. Management attributed the lower deal total contract value to a shift towards shorter-tenure, AI-led engagements with faster revenue conversion, rather than weaker demand.

Estimates and Key Concerns

Prabhudas Lilladher retained its organic revenue-growth estimates, but incorporated Randstad acquisition revenue from Q4FY27. It therefore forecasts consolidated revenue growth of 7.0 per cent in FY27E and 12.2 per cent in FY28E, equivalent to organic growth of 4.3 per cent and 5.3 per cent respectively.

Estimate FY27E FY28E
Consolidated revenue growth 7.0% 12.2%
Organic revenue growth 4.3% 5.3%
EBIT margin estimate 15.2%, down from 15.5% 15.0%, down from 15.6%

The reduction in FY27E and FY28E EBIT-margin estimates reflects expected acquisition-related margin dilution. Key concerns are the Randstad integration overhang, margin dilution, weak order inflows, the Saudi Arabia and Middle East disruption, and delayed CBDT ramp-up due to hardware availability.
