Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 176 points or 0.24 per cent.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals slipped by 0.31 per cent, power plunged by 0.71 per cent, and auto surged by 0.24 per cent.

Meanwhile, The Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts Ltd, NMDC Steel Ltd and ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.

The Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 10.00 per cent to trade at Rs 649.80 apiece. The company reported a 33 per cent year-on-year increase in operating revenue to Rs 412 crore and a 27 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 95 crore in Q2 FY2026-27.

NMDC Steel Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 5.90 per cent to trade at Rs 41.99 apiece. The company appointed Vinod Kumar Tripathi as Government Director on its board, effective October 12, 2026.

ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 3.73 per cent to trade at Rs 1,779.70 apiece. The company reported a 15.5 per cent year-on-year increase in Q2 FY2026-27 net profit to Rs 946 crore and announced an interim dividend of Rs 7 per equity share.
