Solarworld Energy Solutions Stock Rises 0.36%: Here’s Why

Solarworld Energy Solutions' share prices closed at Rs 143.07 on Monday, up 0.36 per cent for the day, after the company received two letters of award from NTPC Limited for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts. The stock touched an Intraday high of Rs 148.78 and a low of Rs 139.19 during the session.

Both orders are under Lot-2 of NTPC's thermal power station programme and were awarded on March 30, 2026. The disclosure was made to the stock exchanges in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

First Order — Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Station
The first contract involves BESS implementation at Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Station in Uttar Pradesh. The order capacity is 50 MW / 100 MWh and the order value is approximately Rs 108.22 crore, excluding Taxes. The contract is domestic in nature and is to be completed within 15 months from the date of award.

Second Order — Solapur Super Thermal Power Station
The second contract is for BESS implementation at Solapur Super Thermal Power Station in Maharashtra. The order capacity is 75 MW / 150 MWh and the order value is approximately Rs 176.91 crore, excluding taxes. This contract is also domestic and carries the same completion timeline of 15 months.
The combined value of both orders stands at approximately Rs 285.13 crore, excluding taxes. The company has confirmed that neither contract falls under a related party transaction, and no promoter or group company has any interest in NTPC, the entity awarding the orders

The total Order Book addition of Rs 285.13 crore in a single day is meaningful for a company of Solarworld's size. Execution of both projects within the 15-month timeline will be closely watched, as successful delivery could open the door to further orders from NTPC and other power utilities.
