Markets Trading On Positive Footing, Polling For 7th Phase Begins

After witnessing a slump for the last two days, Indian markets are trading on firm footing this morning. Blue chip stocks are leading the gainers list in the morning trade. As a result the Nifty is trading higher by 53 points at 6770 and Sensex is positive by 180 points to trade at 22640. According to market experts the current rally is in tandem with the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections. INR opened today’s trading session higher by 10 paise at 60.61 against per USD.

Indian markets are trading higher in the morning deals. Nifty is up by 53 points to trade at 6770 and the Sensex is up by 180 points to trade at 22640. Both indices are trading up in the range of 0.75%.

The advance-decline ratio is also indicating strength in the morning session today. On the NSE, 1929 shares are trading in gains and 1515 shares are down.

Top Nifty Gainers: GAIL is the top gainer in today’s morning session and is up by 2.87%. It is followed by PNB, BPCL, Bank of Baroda and Asian Paints.

Top Nifty Losers: Sun Pharma is the top loser for today’s morning session and is trading lower by 1.30%. It is followed by Bajaj Auto, DLF, Sesa Sterlite and Tata Power.

On the sectoral front, 11 out of 13 sectors are trading in the green zone. Bankex is the top gainer this morning as trading higher by 184 points. It was followed Oil & Gas and Auto, which were up by 164 points and 111 points respectively. Mid-caps and small-caps also traded with a positive bias up by 66 points and 44 points respectively, this morning. 

Global Markets are giving out mixed cues this morning. Nikkei is up by 15 points. Hang Seng, is trading   down by 300 point. Shanghai Composite and the Straits Times are trading with a positive bias.

Buzzers: Indian Overseas Bank Up by 14% and day high at Rs 64.70, after the company posted Q4 numbers.

Nifty Future trading at 6812 level, if it crosses this level we may see 6850 on closing basis.
