Index Trading On A Positive Note, Nifty Hovering Around 6700

Taking cues from unsupportive global cues, the Indian markets are presently trading on a cautious note. On the first day of the week Nifty is trading up by 9 points at 6704 and Sensex is positive by 62 points at 22468. Oil & Gas is the stand out performer of the morning session, up by 198 points. Global markets under selling pressure.
The Indian markets are trading on a positive note this morning, though the global markets look unsupportive. Nifty is trading up by 9 points at 6704 and the Sensex is up by 62 points to trade at 22468. Both indices are trading up by 0.35%.
The advance-decline ratio is on negative side in the morning session today. On the NSE, 1661 shares are trading in gains and 1762 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: ONGC is the top gainer in today’s morning session and is up by 2.52%. It is followed by Reliance, Jindal Steel, BPCL and Hindalco.
Top Nifty Losers: Bharti Airtel is the top loser for today’s morning session and is trading lower by 1.60%. It is followed by NMDC, HCL Tech, HDFC and ACC.
On the sectoral front, 10 out of 13 sectors are trading in the green. Oil And Gas is the top gainer this morning session as it gained 198 points. It was followed by Metals and Bankex, which were up by 77 points and 50 points respectively. Mid-caps and small-caps are also trading with a positive bias. Market also witnessed selling pressure in morning session. Hang Seng is the top loser so far as it is trading down by 325 points. It is followed by Nikkei, which is down by 27 points. The KOSPI and the Straits Times too are trading with a negative bias.
Buzzers: Lupin stock gained today and made a 52 week high at Rs 1020.
Nifty Future is trading at 6743. If it manages to sustain above this level one can expect further gain.
