Markets Trading Flat, Voting For 8th Phase Of Lok Sabha Elections Underway

Indian markets are directionless this morning amid weak Asian cues. The voting for the 8th phase of the Lok Sabha elections are currently on and market watchers are keeping a keen eye on that. At the present hour the Nifty index is trading down by 11 points at 6703 and the Sensex is down by 43 points at 22461 level.
Indian markets are trading on a flat negative note as the global cues look unsupportive. Nifty is currently trading down by 11 points at 6703 level and Sensex down by 43points at 22461level.
The advance-decline ratio is positive in the morning session. On the NSE, 1809 shares are trading in gains and 1637 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: Lupin is the top gainer for today’s morning session up by 1.63% followed by BPCL, Sun Pharma, BHEL and HCL Tech.
Top Nifty Losers: Wipro is the top loser for today’s morning session down by 1.70% followed by Infosys, Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cement and TCS.
On the sectoral front 10 out of 13 sector indices are trading in green. Capital Goods is top gainer in morning session up by 105 points. Healthcare index is up by 86 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are trading in positive by 55 points and 35 points. IT index is down by 94 points.
On the global front, all Asian shares are trading with a negative bias. The Nikkei market is the top loser for today’s morning session down by 365 points. Hang Seng down by 239 points. The KOSPI and the Straits Times too trade with a negative note.
Buzzers: - HCL Technologies the stock hit intraday high at Rs 1403.50 after the company bagged a USD 400-million contract from Norway's DNB Bank to provide IT infrastructure services and application operations.
Nifty supports around 6700 – 6730 level and now trade around 6734. Below this level may see more down fall.
