A Bout Of Volatility In The Morning Trade

After a positive opening the Indian markets slipped into the negative zone on account of profit booking. Markets have surged this week on the backdrop of Lok Sabha election results to be declared on 16th May, 2014, with the hope of a stable or more precisely a Narendra Modi led government at the centre. At the present hour Nifty index flat and up by 2 points at 7111 and Sensex is slipped into the negative zone by 28 points to trade at 23847.

The Indian markets started on a positive note but currently are trading lower and failed to hold early gains.  The Nifty is trading on a flat positive note to trade at 7111 up by 2 points and the Sensex is trading on a flat negative note to trade at 23847 down by 28points.

The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side at morning session today. On the NSE, 1901 shares are trading in gains and 1543 shares are down.

Top Nifty Gainers: Jindal Steel is the top gainer for today’s morning session which is up by 3.81 %. It is followed by Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto, PNB and Bank of Baroda.

Top Nifty Losers: M&M is the top loser for today’s morning session and is trading lower by 2.62 %. It is followed by BHEL, Dr Reddy’s Labs, ONGC and Wipro.

On the sectoral front, sectors are trading on a mixed note. Metal index is the top gainer this morning which is trading higher by 166 points. It was followed by Consumer Durable and Bankex indices, which were up by 44 points each. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are trading up by 76 points and 75 points each in this morning session.

On the global front Asian markets are giving out negative cues. Nikkei is down by 47 points. Hang Seng is up by 199 points. Shanghai Composite is trading with a nominal negative bias.

Buzzers: Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals jumped 8.01% and is currently trading at day high and 52 week high at Rs 67.80 after company announce strong Q4FY14 result.  

Nifty Future is trading at 7141 level.
