Markets Trading On A Positive Note, Repo Rate Unchanged

The Reserve Bank of India in its bi-monthly policy review has kept the repo rate unchanged at 8% and the CRR unchanged at 4%, while Statutory Liquid Ratio (SLR) has been cut by 50 bps. At the current hour Nifty index is trading positive by 10 points at 7373 and Sensex trades at 24729 up by 41 points. INR opened flat today at 59.16 against per USD.
Markets this morning are trading on a positive note led by Metals and Capital Goods stocks which pulled the indices higher. Both the Sensex and NSE Nifty are up by 0.15% in today's early morning trade. Nifty is trading up by 10 points to trade at 7373 and the Sensex trades at 24729 up by 41 points.
The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side in the morning session today. On the NSE, 2072 shares are trading in gains and 1424 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: Sesa Sterlite is the top gainer in today’s morning session and is trading higher by 3.05%. It is followed by Coal India, Tata Steel, NTPC and Grasim.
Top Nifty Losers: HCL Tech is the top loser for today’s morning session and is trading lower by 2.04%. It is followed by Dr Reddy’s Labs, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel and PNB.
On the sectoral front 12 out of 13 indices are trading in green. Metals index is the top gainer this morning as it surged by 251 points this morning. It was followed by Capital Goods and Auto indices, which were up by 121 points and 66 points respectively. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are up by 64 points and 51 points respectively in this morning session.
Global Markets are trading in positive at this morning. Nikkei is trading up by 137 points. Hang Seng is up by 129 points. Straits Times and the Shanghai Composite were trading with nominal gain this morning.
Buzzers: Bajaj Finance surged more than 6.97% in morning trading session touching day's high and 52 week high of Rs 2230.
Nifty Future is trading above its resistance level which is 7330-7350. This is indicating good strength at current level around 7390.
