A Flat Trading Session In Progress With A Bout Of Volatility

It’s a subdued morning session in progress on Dalal Street as indices turned negative after reversing an initial decline. Escalating tension in Iraq has pushed the Asian markets in the red zone with the Indian rupee today trading at 60.50 against per USD, standing at two months low. At this point of hour the Nifty index is trading flat at 7546, down by 5 points and Sensex is negative by 20 points at 25228.
The Indian markets are trading volatile on account of fall in Asian stocks. The Nifty is trading on a flat negative note to trade at 7546 and the Sensex is trading at 25228.
The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side in the morning trade today. On the NSE, 2099 shares are trading in gains and 1420 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: ONGC is the top gainer for today’s morning session which is up by 1.79%. It is followed by HCL Tech, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints and Power Grid Corp.
Top Nifty Losers: Dr Reddy’s Labs is the top loser for today’s morning session and is trading lower by 1.50%. It is followed by M&M, HDFC, DLF and Hero Motocorp.
On the sectoral front, 9 out of 13 sectors are trading on a positive note. Capital Goods is the top gainer this morning which is trading higher by 127 points. It was followed by Oil & Gas indices, which were up by 113 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are trading up by 55 points and 112 points each in this morning session.
On the global front Asian markets are giving out mixed cues. Hang Seng is down by 117 points. Nikkei is up by 70 points. Shanghai Composite and Straits Times markets are trading with a nominal negative bias.
Buzzers: Monsanto India jumped 7.40% and is currently trading at Rs 2234 after striking a record high of Rs 2270 in intraday trade.
