The Budget Is Developmental In Nature: R S Agarwal

R S Agarwal, Jt. Chairman, Emami Group of Companies shares his views on the maiden budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitely.
The maiden budget presented by the BJP led NDA Government is in overall a very good budget. The new government deserves applause for presenting an inclusive and progressive budget within one month of its tenure. The budget is aimed towards expansion of the country’s economy and develop a future roadmap for growth. One must remember that the new government has a huge task of overcoming lot of problems that they have inherited as a legacy of the earlier government. The budget has managed to address many concerns that have been raised frequently in the past by both industry and common people. It has given fillip to sectors like manufacturing, infrastructure, healthcare, defence, education and so on. Women empowerment is another aspect that the Government has vowed to take care. It is heartening to note that the Government has plans to reign in fiscal deficit from existing 4.1% to 3% in the next three years. The budget is developmental in nature and sets the tone for strengthening the country’s economic foundation. In other words, it seems that this is the beginning of ‘achhe din’.
