Idea's Net Profit Jumped By 15% In Q1FY15

Idea Cellular, India's third largest mobile phone service provider reported very good numbers in the quarter ended 30 June, 2014. We give you the financial highlights of the company’s performance.
On consolidated basis, Idea Cellular has posted a net profit of Rs 728 crore in Q1FY15 as compared to Rs 462 crore in Q1FY14, reporting a jump of over 57%. The topline of the company went up by 15%. Revenue of the company rose to Rs 7554 crore in the current quarter from Rs 6534 crore in the same quarter last year.
EBITDA of the company stood at 33.2% in Q1FY15. The company's Average Revenue Per Month (ARPM) grew by 3.4%. Consequently, Idea reported Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of Rs 181 from Rs 173 in June 2013.
The company has expanded its data user base by 2.6 million in the current quarter. Idea cellular's value-added services (VAS) also posted sharp rise, consequently improving data realization and higher voice rate for the customers. Backed by strong quarterly results, positive momentum in coming sessions cannot be ruled out.
