Post Market Summary
The Indian markets witnessed good buying interest in today's session. The markets slipped a bit in the wee hours of trade to close the day in green. All the sectoral indices ended the day in green with the only exceptoion being the Metal index. The main gainers for the day are the Relty Index gaining more than two percentage points followed by the Consumer Durables and Banking indices gaining more than one percentage points. The Sensex cloised the day in green gaining 93.13 or 0.52 percentage points to close at 18,167.03. Nifty closed the day at 5452.10 gaining 35.65 points or 0.66 percentatge points. On the global front, European stocks declined, led by declines in the region’s biggest banks and a selloff in shares of Delhaize Group. U.S. futures also slipped.The benchmark Stoxx Europe 600 Index fell 0.3 percent to 254.09 at 10:58 a.m. in London, after earlier rising as much as 0.8 percent. HSBC Holding Plc, Europe’s biggest lender, fell 1.6 percent, while Banco Santander SA, Spain’s largest bank, lost 1.1 percent. Delhaize slumped 8.4 percent.
