Dicey Indices End On Negative Note

The Indian markets witnessed negative opening in today’s trading session. However, after mid-session, indices saw recovery but did not sustain on highs. IT, Mid-Caps and Small-Caps continued with their profit booking trade. At the end of the trading session, Nifty index was down by 22 points at 7649 and the Sensex ended the day lower at 25589, down by 76 points.

At the end of the trading session, Nifty index was down by 22 points at 7649 and the Sensex ended the day lower at 25589, down by 76 points.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the negative side as the day ended with 1603 shares in green and 1994 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: ACC gained 2.97% in today’s trade, followed by Jindal Steel, Ambuja Cement, Tata Steel and Coal India.
Top Nifty Losers: PNB closed the day lower by 2.45%, followed by Infosys, HCL Tech, Bank Of Baroda and TCS.
Most of the sectoral indices closed on a negative note. IT witnessed unexpected fall by 125 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also witnessed profit booking trade by 50 points. Bankex, Capital Goods, Health Care and FMCG closed on a negative note. However Consumer Durables closed on a higher note by 64 points.
All the major Asian markets closed the day on a negative note. Hang Seng closed down by 196 points, whereas Nikkei index closed up by 72 points. KOSPI and Shanghai Composite also closed in the negative territory.
Buzzer: PNB was down by more than 2.45% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 925. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch the Rs 920/900 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty Future closed around the technical level of 7700. This level will be a pivot for tomorrow’s trade.
