Indices Close In Negative Territory, Metals Dive

The markets witnessed some profit booking scenario in today’s session. Metals and Capital Goods saw deep dives and dragged the index on the lower side. It was followed by Oil & Gas and Bankex. IT also closed in the red mark. The Nifty index saw down moves by 18 points at 8095 and Sensex closed in the negative territory, down by 54 points at 27085 at the end of today’s trade.

IT also closed in the red mark. The Nifty index saw down moves by 18 points at 8095 and Sensex closed in the negative territory, down by 54 points at 27085 at the end of today’s trade.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was negative, as the day ended with 1578 shares in green and 2055 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: Bajaj Auto gained 3.42% in today’s trade, followed by Hero Motocorp, NTPC, HDFC and Power Grid.
Top Nifty Losers: DLF closed the day lower by 8.42%, followed by BHEL, Jindal Steel, Tata Steel and Hindalco.
Most of the sectoral indices closed on a negative note. Metals and Capital Goods stocks witnessed heavy profit booking in today’s trading session, down by 190 points and 155 points respectively, followed by Bankex and Oil & Gas. IT also closed more than 50 points negative. However Health Care and FMCG closed in the positive territory.
All the Asian markets closed on a positive note in today’s session. The Nikkei market closed on a negative mark, down by 52 points. While Hang Seng closed down by 20 points. However KOSPI and Shanghai closed in the positive territory.
Buzzer: DLF was down by more than 8.42% on the bourses today and closed below the technical level of Rs 170. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch the Rs 155/140 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty future closed above the technical level of 8100, indicating good strength for further trading sessions.
