Indices Close On Lower End, Oil & Gas Dive

The Indian markets continued with the profit booking session majorly in the second half of today’s trading session. The major index like Oil & Gas, Capital Goods, Bankex and Auto closed in the negative territory. On the other hand, small-caps managed to close on the positive note. At the closing buzz, Nifty index was down by 58 points at 8094 and the Sensex ended the day lower at 27057, down by 207 points

The major index like Oil & Gas, Capital Goods, Bankex and Auto closed in the negative territory. On the other hand, small-caps managed to close on the positive note. At the closing buzz, Nifty index was down by 58 points at 8094 and the Sensex ended the day lower at 27057, down by 207 points.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the positive side as the day ended with 2018 shares in green and 1628 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: IDFC gained 2.08% in today’s trade, followed by DLF, ICICI Bank, Power Grid and Sesa Sterlite.
Top Nifty Losers: Cairn India closed the day lower by 2.66%, followed by Hero Motocorp, BPCL, ITC and Coal India.
Most of the sectoral indices closed on a negative note. Oil & Gas and IT closed on negative note, down by 172 points and 154 points respectively. Auto, Bankex, Metals and Capital Goods also witnessed down trade and closed in the red mark. However small-caps closed in the positive territory.
All the major Asian markets closed the day on a positive note. Hang Seng closed down by 485 points, whereas Nikkei index closed up by 39 points. Taiwan and KOSPI closed in the negative territory.
Buzzer: Cairn India was down by more than 2.66% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 335. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch the Rs 320/310 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty Future closed below the technical level of 8150. Going ahead, the levels of 8080/8050 will be the immediate vital supports.
