The Indian markets witnessed heavy fall in today’s trading session. All the indices closed in the negative territory. Mid-caps and Small-caps saw a nosedive trade, down by more than 3.5%. The Nifty saw down move by 109 points at 7932 and Sensex was down by 324 points at 26492 in the closing bell.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was negative, as the day ended with 1082 shares in green and 2558 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: Dr Reddys Labs gained 0.88% in today’s trade, followed by United Spirits, ITC, Sun Pharma and Infosys.
Top Nifty Losers: Tata Power closed the day lower by 6.12%, followed by BPCL, Lupin, PNB and Tata Steel.
All the sectoral indices closed on a negative note. Mid-caps and small-caps tanked by 341 points and 449 points respectively, followed by Capital Goods and Bankex, which slipped by 411 points and 369 points respectively. Auto, Consumer Durables Health Care and Metals went down by around 250 points.
All the major Asian markets had a negative session on the bourses today and ended the day in the downward territory. The Nikkei market witnessed down move by 36 points, the Hang Seng market closed down by 220 points, while Shanghai Composite and Taiwan closed on the negative side.
Buzzer: Tata Power was down by more than 6.12% on the bourses today and closed down at the technical level of Rs 85. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch Rs 78/75 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty future closed below the vital support levels of 8000/7970, indicating that the index may depreciate further.
