Nifty Remains Below 7900, IT Down By 3%

The Indian markets witnessed trade in a narrow range in today’s session. IT and Health Care were hammered down by more than 3%. However Capital Goods, Bankex and Oil & Gas provided some support to the indices. The Nifty closed down by 9 points at 7842 and Sensex was down by 25 points at 26246 in the closing bell.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the negative side, as the day ended with 1685 shares in green and 1955 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: DLF gained 5.12% in today’s trade, followed by IndusInd Bank, BPCL, Tata Steel and ONGC.
Top Nifty Losers: Infosys closed the day lower by 4.73%, followed by Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddys Labs, Sun Pharma and Wipro.
The sectoral indices showed a mixed trend in today trading session. Health Care and IT tanked more than 300 points. Mid-cap stocks were down by around 20 points. However Capital Goods, Bankex and Oil & Gas closed up more than 150 points. While Consumer Durables and FMCG closed on a positive note.
Most of the Asian markets had a negative session on the bourses today and ended the day in the downward territory. The Nikkei market saw down move by 187 points, while Taiwan index, KOSPI and Straits Times also closed on a negative note. The Hang Seng market closed down by 159 points.
Buzzer: Infy was down by more than 4.5% on the bourses today and closed down at the technical level around Rs 3650. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch Rs 3610/3570 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty future closed below 7900 mark. However 7855 and 7820 will be the immediate supports for further trade.
