The Indian markets witnessed lacklustre session in today’s session to close the day on a very flat note. Some support is provided to the markets by the Banking, Realty and PSU indices. The main draggers for the day are the IT and Capital Goods indices. The Sensex closed the day in red declining 1.93 points or 0.01 percentage points to close at 18,048.85. Nifty ends the day at 5414.15 declining 4.15 points or 0.08 percentage points. Market breadth was negative with 1,449 advances against 1,513 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks rose after Carlsberg A/S increased its earnings forecast and Wienerberger AG returned to profit, boosting confidence that the economic recovery can be sustained. U.S. index futures and Asian shares advanced.
