Indices Hold Gains, Auto Up By 500 Points

Indian markets continued with the positive sentiment and also closed on highs. Auto sector led today’s rally as stocks like Hero Motocorp, Tata Steel & Bajaj Auto showed good strength. Capital Goods and Health Care were up by 307 points and 227 points respectively. The Nifty closed up by 68 points at 7995 and Sensex was up by 211 points at 26787 in the closing bell.

Capital Goods and Health Care were up by 307 points and 227 points respectively. The Nifty closed up by 68 points at 7995 and Sensex was up by 211 points at 26787 in the closing bell.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the positive side, as the day ended with 2166 shares in green and 1481 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: Jindal Steel gained 10.11% in today’s trade, followed by Kotak Mahindra, Hero Motocorp, Cairn India and Tata Motors.

Top Nifty Losers: ONGC closed the day lower by 2.10%, followed by NMDC, DLF, ICICI Bank and NTPC.

All the sectoral indices were positive in today’s session. Auto was the outperformer in today’s trade, up by more than 500 points. Capital Goods and Health Care stocks were up by 307 points and 227 points respectively. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps closed on a positive note, up more than 100 points. However Bankex, IT and Metals closed on a nominally positive note.    

The Asian markets had a positive session on the bourses today and ended the day in the upward territory. The Nikkei market saw up move by 391 points, while Taiwan, KOSPI & Shanghai Composite also closed on a positive note. The Hang Seng Index also closed in the positive territory, up by 315 points.     

Buzzer: Hero Motocorp was up by more than 3.5% on the bourses today and closed up at the technical level around Rs 3100. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch Rs 3150/3170 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty future closed above 8000 mark which is a bullish signal for further trade.
