Indices End On Positive Mark, HUL Up By 3.7%

The Indian market witnessed volatile session in today’s trade. However in the closing buzz, Capital Goods and Bankex showed good rally and pulled the indices on the higher side, up by 239 points and 192 points respectively. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also closed in the positive territory. The Nifty index ended up by 38 points at 8323 and the Sensex ended the day higher at 27585, up by 126 points.

Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also closed in the positive territory. The Nifty index ended up by 38 points at 8323 and the Sensex ended the day higher at 27585, up by 126 points.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the positive side as the day ended with 1655 shares in green and 1256 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: HUL gained 3.7% in today’s trade, followed by IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra, L&T and Infosys.

Top Nifty Losers: Coal India closed the day lower by 4.59%, followed by Cairn India, Hindalco, Jindal Steel and Bharti Airtel.

Most the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. Capital Goods stocks were the outperformers of the day, up by 239 points. Banking index was up by 192 points. IT and FMCG also closed in positive territory, up by 141 points and 111 points respectively. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps ended in the positive territory. However Metals and Oil & Gas showed downward move around 176 points and 116 points respectively.   

All the major Asian markets closed the day on a mixed note. Hang Seng index was up by 106 points. Taiwan and Shanghai Composite closed in the negative territory, down by 37 points and 54 points respectively. Nikkei was closed for today’s session.

Buzzer: HUL was up more than 3.5% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 895. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch the Rs 920/940 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty Future broke and closed above 8350 mark. If it sustains above this level, it may see 8400/8440 levels.
