Markets Ends Flat in Green

 Post Market Summary

It has been a flat end to a range bound trade of day. The markets today had quite a listless trading session. The Sensex opened on a good note in the morning only to quickly pare its initial gains and touch the day's low of 18,371. Thereafter, it hovered around either side of the previous day's close till closing bell. The main gainer for the day is the Consumer Durable index closing the day with a gain of more than four percentage points followed by the PSU index gaining more than one percentage points. The only index to end the day in red is the FMCG index which closed declining by more than one percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 7.53 points or 0.04 percentage points to close at 18,409.35.  Nifty ends the day at 5543.50 gaining 12.85 points or 0.23 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,740 advances against 1,213 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks gained, after the Stoxx Europe 600 Index’s biggest weekly decline in seven weeks left the measure at the lowest level in a month. U.S. index futures rose and Asian shares were little changed.
