Sensex, Nifty Dicey, Auto Surges

The Indian markets witnessed a directionless movement in today’s trade. However, the benchmark indices closed in the negative territory.  Auto and Banking stocks provided some supports and their indices closed up by 158 points and 54 points respectively. Oil & gas and metals also surged around 75 points each. While Mid-Caps and Small-Caps ended on a positive territory. The Nifty remained in stress to close down by 11 points in today’s trade at 8224 while Sensex was down by 45 points  and closed at 27206.

Oil & gas and metals also surged around 75 points each. While Mid-Caps and Small-Caps ended on a positive territory. The Nifty remained in stress to close down by 11 points in today’s trade at 8224 while Sensex was down by 45 points  and closed at 27206.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the positive side, as the day ended with 1482 shares in green and 1217 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: Asian Paints closed the day higher by 4.45%, followed by PNB, Hindalco, BPCL and  Dr Reddy’s Labs.

Top Nifty Losers: Lupin closed the day lower by 3.41%, followed by Vedanta, HCL Tech, Infosys and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Most of the sectoral indices closed with positive note in today’s session. Auto index were real outperformer of the day and were up by more than 150 points. Oil & Gas, Metals, Mid-Caps and Small-Caps stocks also surged around 95 points each. This was followed by Banking and Metals stocks that were up by 70 points each. However IT and Consumer Durables closed in negative territory.  

The Asian markets witnessed some mixed trade in today’s session. The Nikkei market was down by 194 points. The Taiwan markets also closed on negative mark and was down by 113 points. However Hang Seng and KOSPI index closed in nominally positive note.   

Buzzer: Asian Paints was up by more than 4.45% on the bourses today and closed above at the technical level around Rs 790. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch Rs 810/825 mark in the next few sessions. 

Nifty Future closed around the crucial support which was at 8200. If it’s open below this level may see more downward trade.
