Markets Weak, Nifty Below 8000

The Indian Market opened in the negative territory on back of tepid global cues. The Banking stocks dragged the benchmark indices to the lower levels and Bankex is down by 85 points. As a result the Nifty trading below its crucial support level, down by 24 points at 7989 levels and Sensex down by 80 points at 26505 levels. Both indices opened down by .30 per cent.

As a result the Nifty trading below its crucial support level, down by 24 points at 7989 levels and Sensex down by 80 points at 26505 levels. Both indices opened down by .30 per cent.

The advance-decline ratio is negative side in the morning session. On the NSE, 856 shares are trading with gains and 1128 shares are down.

Top Nifty Gainers:  BPCL is the top gainer for today’s morning session up by 1.91%, followed by Tata Power, Wipro, Coal India and PNB Only.

Top Nifty Losers: Cairn India is the top loser for today’s morning session down by 1.9%, followed by HDFC, Cipla, Idea Cellular and Bank Of Baroda.

On the sectorial view 6 out of 13 sectors trading in red. Bankex was top loser trading in the morning session down by 85 points. Followed by Consumer Durables and Auto were down by 64 points and 32 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also were trading with negative bias. However IT, Metals and Oil & Gas were showing some strength.

On the global front, the Asian shares are trading on negative sentiment. The Hang Seng index is the top loser for today’s morning session down by 145 points. Followed by the Nikkei index which is trading lower by 110 points. The KOSPI, Shanghai Composite and the Straits Times trade on some negative note.

Buzzers: - BPCL the stock moved up by 1.8% after petrol price hike by 64p/lt. The stock made new 52 week high at Rs 849.80.

Nifty broke its major support which was around 7980 level. Below this level we may see more selling pressure.
