Nifty Surges, Metals Shines

The Indian markets not only open on the positive note it’s ended up with good volumes. The market was volatile after mid-session but again it closed near day highs. The Nifty ended the day with gain of 44 points at 8091 and Sensex was up by 146 points and closed at 26832.

The advance-decline ratio ended on the positive side at the closing session. On the NSE, 1717 shares closed in green, while 939 shares ended the day in red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Cipla closed the day with the top gain on the NSE, up by 3.8%. Tata Steel, HUL, Hindalco and Reliance Industries  were the others that ended higher.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Vedanta was the top loser, down by 3.28%, followed by BHEL, Tata Power, Power Grid Corp and Cairn India.

12 out of 13 indices ended in the green in today’s trade. Healthcare was the top gainer for the day, up by 252 points. Followed by Consumer Durbales and Capital goods that were up by 225 points and 185 points respectively. Mid-caps and Small-Caps up more than 150 points. However Bankex ended on negative territory.

In the Asian markets, the Hang Seng ended higher by 187 points. The Shanghai Composite and KOSPI ended on a positive note. On the other hand, the Nikkei closed down by 38 points.

Buzzers: Tata Steel surges by 3.5% after government hikes import duty of steel. The stock made high around Rs 310. Going ahead the stock have major hurdle at Rs 320. 

The Nifty Future closed above 8050 level, may see positive opening for tomorrow’s session.
