India achieved good sectoral growth in last fiscal mainly in infrastructure

Indian economy achieved better growth in the infrastructure development in last fiscal compared to what it achieved in year before it. There are many other segments where India showed improvement compared to last fiscal year.

Indian economy achieved better growth in the infrastructure development in last fiscal compared to what it achieved in year before it. There are many other segments where India showed improvement compared to last fiscal year. The other areas where improvement was witnessed are fertiliser, refinery, goods traffic carried by railways, cargo handled at major seaports, airports and net addition in telephone switching capacity. Also production in power, steel, coal and cement improved in 2014-15.
 
Power generation during the year 2014-15 was increased by 8.85 per cent to 1110 billion units compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Renewable energy production was 16.44 per cent higher than that in the previous year. Also the production of power through thermal, nuclear, hydro, and renewable were also higher to 878.32BU, 36.10BU, 129.24BU, 61.78BU respectively which are higher than the target set for the year.
 
International and domestic terminals the overall passengers handled were more than the last year. But in many segment the production was lower than the targets. For example segments were production was lesser than expected targets are coal, fertiliser, hydro power generation, refinery, goods traffic carried by railways, export and import cargo handled at airports. Production of crude oil, natural gas and upgradation of highways were also less than the set targets.
 
The overall infrastructure development details released by MoSPI as a part of review of infrastructure performance during 2014-15, there were twelve major projects undertaken by Indian government. Twelve major projects are: Mumbai airport's new T2, Semi-bullet train' sets speed record, 'Airport-like' bus terminal in Vadodara, Udhampur-Katra rail link, Surat gets BRTS corridor, India's largest solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai monorail: India's first monorail, after 27 years Arunachal Pradesh on India's railway map, new airport terminal at Ozar inaugurated, India's first double-decker flyover in Mumbai, Meghalaya finally on India's railway map, Mumbai Metro rolls out.
 
The Plans and projects for further changes and growth in the infrastructure are still working out for the next year that is 2015-16, recently aimed 10,000 kms of road projects this fiscal. Furthermore there will many infrastructure changes and other sectoral growth in India.
